We have a baby...now what?

I thought that squeezing her out would be the hardest thing I could do. But, I was wrong. No one told me that the after effects of labor would be so painful...I tell you what...my tailbone hurt so bad I could barely sit. Not only did I have to deal with healing from a traumatic experience of labor, I had to try and get her to breast feed every one to four hours, try and sleep and eat, and learn that my world is now turned upside down. The only thing that makes it worth it, is when I look at her beautiful face. Bytheway, breast feeding is not all it cracks up to be...I really didn't mind it to much, I just don't think that she wanted to do it. She had a hard time latching on and staying on. I gave it a really good effort, and decided to go with the bottle. I am so glad I did. Ever since then, she is now sleeping better and gaining weight. Thank heavens for formula. I have to say...if anyone decides to bottle feed instead of breast feed...don't give them a hard time about it. Some women or baby's cannot do it...and it is as good as breast feeding. Although, some days I would like to be able to sleep all day and night...I wouldn't change my life for any one's right now.
Thank you, Thank you...Mom and Dad for coming out and helping! And Thank you Bonnie for coming out and helping out too.
Cheryl is crying...so, back to being a mom.

I hear ya! We call the nurse that we "helping me" with Mason the Lactation nazi! she wouldn't leave me alone and kept making me feel bad because I wouldn't try and try and try to breastfeed. It made me feel like I was a bad mother. You do whatever is best for you and your baby!

January 5th, 2009!

Cheryl Love Christopherson was born on 01-05-09, weighing 6 pounds 11 ounces, and 18 inches long. Happy Birthday, we love you! We went to the hospital at 2a.m. Monday morning to be induced for labor, they gave me Patocin to get it going...I was already dilated to 3 centimeters at that time. At around 11 or so I received the wonderful Epidural, Yeah! I still was not progressing, and next thing we knew Cheryl was not handling the contractions very well. They had to turn the Patocin off and turned the Epidural off...because I couldn't feel my legs at all. The doctor said if we don't progress and the contractions keep bugging the baby then we would have to do a C-section. Great! I thought...get this over with already....I don't care how! Well, I didn't have to have a C-section after all and by 5 p.m. I was finally in full dilation. Witch meant...Time to push, I pushed for 2 hours and there she was, a beautiful little girl at 7:18 p.m. What a long day, to say the least! Ther...

When will she arrive?

My doctor has said that my due date is between January 5th to the 10th! I would like to know what everyone thinks when I will have this baby. Take a guess and whoever is the closest then we will name Cheryl's teddy bear after you! We are definitely ready now! We have a cradle, made by my Dad and also a great car seat and stroller finally. I think we were supposed to get that first, but oh well. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Campbell. Cheryl can now come home from the hospital and sleep in the cradle. XOXO-Erin

Ultrasound and Pregnancy Woes

I went to another Ultrasound and Doctor's appointment this week. They said that our baby is now 2 pounds 13 ounces. She had her foot and hands up by her face when we started looking at her and by the end she kicked her leg back down. I think we startled her. She looks perfect right now...she just needs to get bigger. Can you please explain to my why I have stretch Marks on my butt only? Yep, that's right, I have been rubbing that stretch mark cream on myself like I am showering in it and the only place I got them is on my used to be small butt. I have the biggest butt now with stretch marks. I am so glad they are behind me so I really don't see them all the time. They just hurt like hell. Give me a butt pad or something. Ahhh. My back has been killing me lately too...so I went to a chiropractor. It was amazing! Who knew that adjusting my back would make a huge difference. It cleared up my sinus problems and I can actually breath now. And that was just my first appointment. ...
