We have a baby...now what?

I thought that squeezing her out would be the hardest thing I could do. But, I was wrong. No one told me that the after effects of labor would be so painful...I tell you what...my tailbone hurt so bad I could barely sit. Not only did I have to deal with healing from a traumatic experience of labor, I had to try and get her to breast feed every one to four hours, try and sleep and eat, and learn that my world is now turned upside down. The only thing that makes it worth it, is when I look at her beautiful face. Bytheway, breast feeding is not all it cracks up to be...I really didn't mind it to much, I just don't think that she wanted to do it. She had a hard time latching on and staying on. I gave it a really good effort, and decided to go with the bottle. I am so glad I did. Ever since then, she is now sleeping better and gaining weight. Thank heavens for formula. I have to say...if anyone decides to bottle feed instead of breast feed...don't give them a hard time about it.

January 5th, 2009!

Cheryl Love Christopherson was born on 01-05-09, weighing 6 pounds 11 ounces, and 18 inches long. Happy Birthday, we love you! We went to the hospital at 2a.m. Monday morning to be induced for labor, they gave me Patocin to get it going...I was already dilated to 3 centimeters at that time. At around 11 or so I received the wonderful Epidural, Yeah! I still was not progressing, and next thing we knew Cheryl was not handling the contractions very well. They had to turn the Patocin off and turned the Epidural off...because I couldn't feel my legs at all. The doctor said if we don't progress and the contractions keep bugging the baby then we would have to do a C-section. Great! I thought...get this over with already....I don't care how! Well, I didn't have to have a C-section after all and by 5 p.m. I was finally in full dilation. Witch meant...Time to push, I pushed for 2 hours and there she was, a beautiful little girl at 7:18 p.m. What a long day, to say the least! Ther

She's coming...

We have been in the hospital three times this week, under doctor's orders. Not because I was in labor...it still hasn't happened yet. My doctor stripped my membranes to try and kick start the labor on Friday. Well, no labor yet. We have a scheduled Induction on Monday at 2 a.m. and so if I don't go into labor by then....than Monday is the day. She just doesn't want to come out unless she is forced. I would have gone until the tenth...but my blood pressure has been high...and the doctor is concerned. Everything is still going good. No major contractions yet. I am just so ready! Yep, I am so done being pregnant. We are so excited to see our new baby girl! Can't wait to hold her in my arms. XOXO-Erin
