Weekend Projects

This weekend we have been very busy. I bought a rocking chair from Deseret Industries, a thrift store, for only $15 dollars. The only thing it needed was a new paint job. And that's where Nathan comes in...he spray painted it black and now it looks brand new. As if we paid $150 for it. It took a long time and he is still not completely done, but I think it was worth it. He also sprayed this cedar chest that my Dad made me for my graduation present. So, now we are going to make the cedar chest into a coffee table. Thanks Dad for letting us do so many modifications to it. And thank you Nathan for doing all these projects that I can't do while I am Prego! I am addicted to buying things cheap and revamping them into expensive pieces. Everyone keeps asking me when what we are having. I know I really look like I should know by now...I am really getting big. But, in just two weeks we will know. So, be patient for a little longer, Okay?! I can't wait either!

Holy Cow...I can't believe you have a baby in your belly! It's going to be so weird when I see you next! I can't wait. I might cry, so watch out! hehe Those pieces look awesome! I wish I could see you on Thanksgiving. I think I might just have to do something that mom would to take my mind away from it...like go to a buffet somewhere or picnic or something. Sheesh this is hard! I miss you too much! I can't wait to know whether you have my niece or nephew in your stummy!

No Excuses

June's Cooking Show! June always wants to cook and has been begging me to film her cooking. I had a million excuses, but I decided that June didn't care that she was in her jammies. She didn't care that the kitchen had bad lighting. She didn't even care what she made. She just wanted to have her mom film a video of her cooking in the kitchen (like she loves to do with me). So, with my IPhone in hand and all those excuses that I created I threw them out the window and decided to STEP UP and be the mom she wants and needs. We made the first video in 2017 and she loved it so much. We got busy and made more excuses. June didn't give up though. She wanted to do another video. So, on a school night I wanted to make banana bread and decided that we are already making it, so I might as well let June make it and film it. June loves to cook and watching her video's. I love her so much and I want her to do the things that she loves to do, so, I will continue to not ma...

Homemade

I am always trying to find ways to save money wherever I can. So, I decided to make some homemade laundry detergent. While I was visiting my parents in California I went to a Relief Society Birthday Party in there ward and that is where I got the great idea of making laundry detergent. I tried a couple loads from the sample I got and it was great...just like Tide. So, I made a huge batch. And it was super easy too. It calls for: 1 bar Fels-Naptha bar soap 2 cups 20 Mule Team Borax 2 cups Arm & Hammer washing soda You just grate the soap, like you would cheese. Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container. You only use 2 Tbsp. per load. (tsp. for HE washers) Everything was very inexpensive and much less than I would spend on regular Laundry detergent. I just wanted to share my money saving idea. XOXO-Erin

2 Years Old, Really?!

So, our little girl Cheryl Love turned 2 on January 5th! We actually have a 2 year old. Wow. It was so much fun. Cheryl loves monkey's and her new favorite movie is Jungle Book (if I let her she would watch it all day), so we decided to do a monkey themed birthday party. We had vines hanging from the ceiling and I even made a monkey cake. We had Bonnie my cousin and her daughters, Shaylee and Brooke and my cousin Adriann and her daughter Ivy and of course me, Nathan, CHERYL, and June. Plenty of people and poor Nathan the only boy. Oh well whats ya gonna do, huh? We had so much fun. We ate Jimmy Johns sandwiches(sorry Joi), and frozen banana Popsicles dipped in yogurt and they were really good. It is one of Cheryl's favorite snacks and healthy too. We played pin the banana on the monkey, without the blindfold. And of course ate cake and opened presents. Thanks to all who gave to Cheryl. Cheryl now has a big girl bed that she adores and loves to be in. Whew, I was so worried that...
